I deleted my whiny post from yesterday. Today is much better. Last night I finished 'Choke' and 'The Chocolate War' and I have some good ideas of what I want to teach. Next I'm going to get through 'Catcher in the Rye' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and Kafka's 'The Metamorphosis'. I haven't read any of those in several years. Oh, and 'Slaughterhouse Five'. Love that one. Reading is fun. I am not so much Bob Crane. A day without sex isn't a day wasted. A day without reading is. I'm at one with my nerdiness. I want to teach books that everyone loves. 'To Kill a Mockingbird', yes. 'A Tale of Two Cities', definitely no. 'Huck Finn' would be great but I'm trying to not kill myself the first time out. I don't really want to teach Shakespeare, but 'Romeo and Juliet' is very popular. I'll have to watch the movies for 'The Chocolate War' and 'Mockingbird' again. I might finally see 'Sin City' this weekend. I really should.

I keep meaning to mention this: Does everyone have passports? It's harder to cross back and forth to Mexico now. We used to just take out licenses. Now they've raised the cost of getting a passport and also made it mandatory in order to cross the border. Figures.
