I was watching Kurosawa's 'Ran' this week (and what an amazing film!) and it got me to thinking about pederasty and culture (well, what doesn't...) and I found this site today:

It has a nice overview of cultures around the world (for the next time you're in a bad mood). The Samurai tradition of Shudo, or bido, especially made me think of Batman and Robin-- the warrior who trains his boy apprentice and forms a deep bond. The site quotes a lot of beautiful poetry too. It makes me think of what film critic David Thompson said about Pedro Almodovar-- if maybe film wasn't meant to be gay. But I'll add poetry and comic books and rock music to that. All the good stuff, basically.
